About the Internal Communications Lead Role

As the Communications Lead (Storytelling), your primary focus is to create communications that engages, excites, incites action or provokes a positive emotion in our audience as it relates to the Flutterwave internally and externally. We’re looking for a strategic thinker with exceptional public speaking skills, and immaculate writing and research ability.


You should be detail-oriented, with an ability to work well under pressure, and meet deadlines. You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment. As a member of the Brand and Storytelling team, you will create communications for a variety of projects (including print, web, mobile, video, and social media), working closely with the rest of the marketing and design teams to brainstorm ideas, create concepts, and develop messaging.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement an internal communications strategy.
  • Implement communications strategy that includes media outreach and social media content.
  • Promote communications materials on appropriate channels, offline and online.
  • Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the company’s policies, principles, and strategies, and keep up-to-date with relevant developments.
  • Adhere to the company’s brand guidelines ensuring that all communications materials are produced to the highest quality standards.
  • Write original copy and edit content for a range of corporate marketing and communications materials e.g. press releases, content for company website, infographics, newsletters, etc.
  • Collaborate with the broader marketing and design teams from concept development to delivery of final product.
  • Arrange and coordinate press conferences, events, etc.
  • Track and evaluate successes and learnings of communications campaigns.
  • Respond to media inquiries and perform media outreach to achieve brand placement in publications.

Competency and Skill Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, english, communications, or related discipline
  • Minimum 4 years professional communications experience with solid portfolio of work
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skill and multitasking ability.
  • Ability to think strategically and identify ways to improve communication efforts
  • Ability to take initiative, be resourceful and proactive
  • Authorized to work in Nigeria without sponsorship
